Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced **Senior Backend Developer** with strong expertise in Node.js, MongoDB, Redis, and backend system architecture. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, optimizing, and maintaining scalable backend applications, RESTful APIs, and microservices.

The candidate should have strong problem-solving skills, experience with database optimization, and the ability to build secure, high-performance systems while collaborating with frontend developers, product managers, and other engineering team members.

Key Responsibilities

* Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Node.js.
* Build and manage RESTful APIs and microservices.
* Design, optimize, and maintain MongoDB databases, including schemas, indexes, and complex queries.
* Implement Redis for caching, session management, queues, and performance optimization.
* Develop secure authentication and authorization systems using JWT and OAuth 2.0.
* Optimize application performance, scalability, reliability, and response times.
* Identify and resolve technical issues, bugs, and performance bottlenecks.
* Integrate third-party APIs, payment gateways, and external services.
* Implement proper error handling, logging, and monitoring.
* Write clean, reusable, maintainable, and well-tested code.
* Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architectural decisions.
* Mentor junior developers and follow backend development best practices.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software.

Required Skills & Qualifications

* 2+ years of professional experience in backend development.
* Strong proficiency in **Node.js and JavaScript/TypeScript**.
* Hands-on experience with **MongoDB**, including aggregation pipelines, indexing, and query optimization.
* Strong understanding of **Redis**, caching strategies, and data structures.
* Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
* Good knowledge of authentication and authorization mechanisms, including JWT and OAuth 2.0.
* Experience with SQL or relational databases is an added advantage.
* Familiarity with Git, GitHub/GitLab, and collaborative development workflows.
* Understanding of asynchronous programming, event-driven architecture, and concurrency.
* Experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
* Knowledge of application security, debugging, testing, and performance optimization.
* Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Good to Have

* Experience with message brokers such as RabbitMQ or Kafka.
* Familiarity with WebSockets and real-time applications.
* Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Jest or Mocha.
* Knowledge of system design, distributed systems, and scalable architecture.
* Experience with Kubernetes and production deployment environments.
